How can I clean an email database to make sure I only have active email addresses? ?
I have an email database. What methods could I use to clean that database to make sure I only have relevant email addresses in it?
If I went to an email marketing company what would they do for me?

Depends if that database has some kind of field that indicates if the mail is either active or not.
If you don't know that you'll need to send the messages and check the return mail address to see what mail addresses return with errors on delivery then you should clean the database using those addresses.
