I get at least 50 emails a day from companies wanting to sell me viagra and such. They have no "OPT OUT"?

How do I get these fly by night people to take me off their mailing list. Can I forward their email to some governing body to have them enforce the no mail rule?

Same deal here. Cant do much. Just change your email and dont share it in a public forum or online application forms.

Either block their email address or report them as spam, your email set up should have at least one of these options.

I would just focus on a spam blocker. It will solve 80% of your problems like that.

The problem with forwarding them to a government body is that you are just one. You are a big number one, but if no one else complains it's not enough to charge the companies.

I wish. There is no "no mail" rule for email. Reporting it as spam does no good because they change their address/ISP at least once a day. And I think opening their email only confirms that they have a valid address for you so they can sell it to someone else. I can only hope there is something in their lives as aggravating to them as they are to me.

If you have yahoo use the spam button and they will be blocked and deleted. If you have hotmail they will go to your "junk mail" and you can report it as junk, over time you will get less junk e-mails. That is all you can do. Don't open junk mail, you never know if they carry a virus in them.

don't even open the emails…and I recently heard something about the 'opt out' function end up being more problematic than the original email. Just delete without opening, mark as spam or junk or whatever your email program provides for.

Joke first, I thought initially that you were complaining that you preferred another product called "OPT OUT" to Viagra!

You have a few options to shake the spammers off:
- Report the mails as spam
- If you have not set up your spam protection device yet:
-Click on "options"
-Click on "Spam Protection"
- Follow the Set up Guide to set up your spam protection options
- If some spams still manage to filter in, there is another option under the spam protection facility by which you will specify the email addresses you want to block.

Sorry if I am not too versed in this area, but the ideas I have given will assist.
